We collect information you give us and information we get from your use of the platform.

  • Account and profile data: name, email, phone, address (e.g. for invoicing), and the details you add to your chef or business profile.

  • Job and application data: jobs you post or apply for, messages, and application status.

  • Payment-related data: information needed to process payments and invoices (see "Stripe and payment processing" below).

  • Usage data: how you use the site (e.g. pages visited, actions taken), device and browser information, and IP address.

How we use your data

We use your data to:

  • Provide and run the ChefMatch platform

  • Match chefs with jobs and businesses with chefs

  • Process payments and send you invoices and receipts

  • Send you emails and notifications about your account and activity (see below)

  • Improve the platform, fix issues, and develop new features

  • Comply with legal obligations and protect our rights

Stripe and payment processing

We use Stripe to process payments. When you add a payment method, pay an invoice, or receive payment, your card or bank details are handled by Stripe in line with their privacy policy. We do not store full card numbers. We may store limited payment-related information (e.g. last four digits, billing details) to help with support and fraud prevention. Stripe may use your data for processing and for their own legal and security purposes.

Emails and notifications

We send you emails and in-app notifications for things like applications, bookings, messages, and account or payment updates. You can control some notification preferences in your account. We may also send service-related messages (e.g. security or policy updates) that are not optional. We do not sell your email address to third parties for marketing.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to run the platform, keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how the site is used. No transmission over the internet is completely secure; we do our best to protect your information.
