For Chefs
Find jobs, apply, get selected, and get paid. Everything you need to know as a chef on ChefMatch.
How chefs find jobs
Once your profile is set up, you can browse live jobs on the platform. Jobs are shown by area, date, role type, and other filters so you can find shifts that suit you. You do not need to apply to everything; choose the jobs you want and apply with a short message (or one-click apply). There are no agencies in between—you work directly with the platform and the venue.
Why restaurant details are hidden before selection
To protect your privacy and reduce unsolicited contact, we do not show the full restaurant or business name, address, or contact details until they have selected you. You will see enough to decide whether to apply (e.g. area, date, role, rate). Once a business accepts your application, you receive the full job details and can then accept or decline.
Applying for jobs
Click apply on any job you want. You can add an optional message to introduce yourself or explain your experience. There are no lengthy forms. The business will see your profile and your message and can then accept or decline. You can apply for as many jobs as you like; there is no obligation to accept every offer.
What happens when you're selected
When a restaurant or business accepts your application, you get a notification and the full job details: venue name, address, contact, and any other information you need. You can then accept or decline the shift. If you accept, the booking is confirmed and you can use the platform to message the business if needed.
Messaging rules
Once you are selected and have accepted, you can message the business through the platform about the shift (e.g. arrival time, dress code, equipment). Keep messages professional and relevant to the booking. Do not use the platform for spam, harassment, or to arrange work or payments outside ChefMatch. Misuse can result in account suspension.
Invoicing flow
After you complete the shift, you submit your invoice through ChefMatch. Enter the details of the work done and the amount (as agreed or as shown on the job). The business will then pay through the platform. You do not need to chase payment manually for platform-processed invoices; we aim for weekly pay runs so you receive your money promptly.
When you get paid
Payments are processed securely. Pay runs are typically weekly, so you may not be paid on the same day you invoice. You will see the timing and any platform fee before you commit to a job. You are responsible for your own tax and legal obligations.
Chef platform fee: 3%
Chefs pay a 3% platform fee on completed work. The fee is shown clearly before you commit to a shift and is deducted automatically when you are paid. ChefMatch only earns this fee; the rest is paid to you. There are no hidden fees.
Beta note
ChefMatch is currently in beta. During this period, subscriptions are temporarily free. The 3% platform fee on completed work still applies. We will tell you clearly before any paid subscription or other fee changes.
